Inattention, hyperactivity or impulsivity are key behaviors of ADHD that can interfere with function or development in social and learning environments. If you think your child is showing signs of ADHD, call us to begin an evaluation with our mental health professionals.

ADHD is often misunderstood by parents and pediatricians alike, but there are several treatments available to help your child stay on task. Whether your child needs medication or behavioral therapy to help them stay focused, we are here to educate and help you and your child find the best option for their needs.

Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome

Autism is a spectrum condition that needs different levels and types of support depending on how high functioning a child may be. Asperger’s syndrome is a milder form of autism that affects how people perceive the world and interact with others. Those diagnosed with Asperger syndrome do not usually have the learning disabilities that many autistic people have, but they may have specific learning difficulties such as understanding and processing language.

If you are concerned your child is displaying autism or Asperger syndrome symptoms, please come visit our clinic in Woodburn, Oregon for an autism or Asperger’s test. The earlier your child is diagnosed, the better the prognosis.

We can also help if your child is showing symptoms of dyslexia or having trouble learning basic skills such as reading, writing, and/or math. Learning disabilities can be subtle and difficult to pinpoint, especially when your child is young. We are here to reassure parents and provide resources and support for any questions or concerns you may have.

We promote an environment of understanding, trust, and compassion in our clinic and can provide advice to help foster this type of environment at your child’s school. We offer English and Spanish services to patients in the Woodburn and Portland, OR areas. For any questions or concerns please give us a call today!

Depression, Anxiety & Teen Suicide Prevention

At Woodburn Pediatric Clinic, we know how important it is to find a pediatrician who can help parents and children navigate behavior health, youth therapy, and psychiatric medication for kids. If your child won’t go to school or is exhibiting signs of anxiety, depression, or other behavioral disorders, we can help you find the best treatment options for your unique situation, so you can prevent long-term issues and teen suicide.
