El Dr. Richard Steinberg, creció en los suburbios de la ciudad de Nueva York. Se graduó en Magna Cum Laude, Universidad de Harvard en 1965. Después de recibir su título médico en la Universidad de Medicina Albert Einstein (Bronx, NY), hizo su internado y residencia en pediatría en el Hospital para Niños de Montreal en Canadá. Obtuvo su certificado en pediatría por la junta en 1975. El Dr. Steinberg ha ejercido toda su carrera en Woodburn, dos años en la clínica de salud de migrantes y, desde 1975, en su práctica privada.
